About Post MI Syndrome: Also called Dressler`s syndrome is form of pericarditis, inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart usually occurrs just two to five weeks following the first event. It is thought to be an immune system response after injury to the pericardium or heart tissue, like accident, surgery or a heart attack. Signs of Post MI syndrome consist of much like that experienced during a heart attack, chest pain, as well as fever.
